Beta Birmingham is back with the first of our bi-monthly events for 2012 featuring one of the pioneers of the UK Glitch Hop scene ... Beta are proud to present William Breakspear (Skanky Panky / Rocstar Recordings)

William Breakspear is ready and set to lead the charge on the UK scene with his unique take on the ever expansive bass music genre bridging the gap between the contemporary sounds of ghetto funk and glitch hop. In 2009 he launched Skanky Panky Records alongside fellow Liverpool dwellers and long time cohorts sixAM. Skanky Panky has since established itself as one of the leading lights of the UK glitch hop scene with an expansive remit that has brought together low end theories from all four corners of the globe, ensuring bass fanatics are consistently catered for with their high quality releases and dedication to getting all our parties started.

However, it doesn't stop there! In support we have Beta's very own MPD Samurai Defunkt Dialekt (Beta Birmingham, Spacebar Sentiments, [k]racktroni[k])

I could attempt to describe, but I can't match this Dialekt. "Like a marble in a tin can strapped to a hookers leg performing acts of sexual deviance with a 30 stone goth on crack recorded with cardioid microphones to capture the suttle nuances of the microconspiracy being played out by the autonamous self replicating darwinian apes, reconstructed into binary computations for the electromagnetic creation of localized air pressure disturbances captured in biological form as the systematic firing of nervous system reflexes to form a abstract neurological construct interpreted by a randomly wired neural network as intricate patterns of dissonant frequency's evolving logically creating chemical stimulations resulting in the movement of the ape liteners posterior fat deposits ..... ..........Note: the listener must be within the 96+DB range of the audio-ironic frequency's for the Defunkt Dialekt effect to take place........... Dual-laptop mayhem and improvised rave from Micoland & Naffdogg. Their unique brand of mashed-up Techno takes on Dubstep, Breakcore, Dancehall, and IDM with ruthless disregard for the rules. Wobble n Dubb’s incendary live shows have become infamous in the Leeds rave scene, and their debut LP is now available from www.dead-channel.com

Automaton

Automaton is the prodigal love child of 2 major UK soundsystems. The infamous hip hop event 'Scratch Club', and the fabled electronic music event 'Earko'. His music is a mix of electronica and hip hop ... with a bit of dub mixed in.

Jinx 

One third of junglist badmen Lionfire with an EP due to be released later this year on Ray Keith’s long standing imprint as well as having various tracks featured on ‘Dub Dread 4’ and a heap of things in the works! Jinx is a major player in the Birmingham jungle fraternity.
